Race for the Cure

 

We took part in the Race for the Cure along with several other CALFIRE employees and their families as part of Team Peas.  This walk supported breast cancer survivors and victims.  It was great to see so many people supporting such a worthy cause.  As a cancer survivor myself, it hits really close to home knowing that there are so many people willing to give up their Sunday morning.  Anyone can take part in this and to find out how to get involved click on Race for the Cure. 

 

Pumpkin Patch

 

Last Saturday we went to a HUGE pumpkin patch in Valley Center, down the street from Brad's station.  We had so much fun walking around, tasting festive snacks and watching the cute little kids attempt to pick-up LARGE pumpkins (our favorite part!).  With Brad working for the city we were able to come home with complimentary pumpkins.  Keep your eye out for the finished product!

Ending Domestic Violence...one STEP at a time!

Today my co-worker Lisa and I had the pleasure of Walking-A-Mile in an effort to end Domestic Violence. As you know I work for a Foster & Adoption Agency where I am constantly confronted with Foster Children who are in the system as a direct result of Domestic Violence and their exposure to it. Ending the cycle of abuse has become a passion of mine and I love going to work knowing that in some way (as small as it may be), I am helping to end abuse.

Jen's 24th Birthday...

 

Brad got off just in time to celebrate Jen's 24th Birthday at our local wineries in Temecula.  We were excited to throw our first party at our new home.  We started off at South Coast and finished at our favorite winery, PONTE!  We are considering becoming members before starting our family.  But we both agree that we will NEED it more when we have a family.
